Sydney Eesti Selts AGM – POSTPONED until further notice
May 3 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Postponing the Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Unfortunately, it is not possible to hold the AGM in the current circumstances with restrictions on public gatherings. The Committee of the Society considered holding the AGM over video conference and voting online, however, based on feedback decided against it. What’s more – there are still many uncertainties around the timing and conditions of relaxing the social distancing rules, so the new Committee would not be able to organise any public events.
According to the Office of NSW Fair Trading rules, the Estonian Society of Sydney is required to inform the Office if the AGM is to be postponed. An application to that effect has been submitted by the Society.
Applications to join the Committee of the Society have been accepted from Tiina Tamm, Peeter Muttik, Jaak Sildnik, Mari Lille, and Mai Bell. Committee members continuing their second year are: Arne Rahnel, Lachlan Bell, and Marju Tõnisson.
Aet Madison is not nominating for re-election and Tiina Alvre is resigning from the Committee.
Let’s keep our community alive!
In the meantime, behind the scenes there are still e-gatherings taking place in the Australian-Estonian community. Practising e-folk dance, getting creative with e-handicraft, planning for Sõrve summer camp, e-singing with Kooskõlas and of course, e-learning of eesti keel.
